Recently I bought a DSLR canon 450D body. I love landscape and macro photography. But I am confused about lens. Could anybody please suggest me which lens will be better for landscape and macro photography?

Thank you.

for proper macro and landscape you are looking at two different lenses, what sort of budget are you thinking bout?

as fletch says.....you will generally need 2 different lens,BUT although not stricktly macro..a lens like the sigma 17-70 will be great for landscape shots, but it will also do "macro"(or close up in reality)work.macro is by it's definition,1:1 reproduction, whereas the 17-70 will only give you 1:2 at best(i think),but will give you good results.if you have the financial wherewithall...then you'll find it hard to beat the sigma 105 macro lens (y)

around 300 pound.
But I have seen a tele lens in Amazon Sigma AF 70-300mm f4-5.6 DG Macro Canon fit lens. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-70-300mm-f4-5-6-Macro-Canon/dp/tech-data/B000ALLMI8/ref=de_a_smtd

How about this lens? How about 18-55mm kit lens of canon?

the 70-300 lens is not really any use for landscape work.as said, you won't go far wrong with the sigma 17-70 which will do both macro and landscape work very well indeed...

this one..

and it comes within your budget (y)

If you don't mind second hand then I would recommend the Canon 100mm Macro lens. Yes its not landscape but is fantastic for 1:1 macros and has a dual use as a great portrait lens.

18-55mm kit lens does the job admirably for landscapes if learning the ropes.

That's not a macro purpose lens, it's a telezoom lens with kind of macro function.

For £300, I would suggest a Tamron 17-50 2.8 for landscape.

I know it. Should I buy kit lens of canon which is 18-55mm? What do you think?

I would second that, the Tamron is a nice lens, unfortunately, you'll need to save up for the macro lens, as that's you entire budget gone on one lens.

I would suggest either a Sigma 10-20 or a Canon 10-22 for landscapes.
These are not cheap lenses but they are not as expensive compared to some others.
This hobby is an expensive game but once you find a lens for a particular style of photography, you wont regret it.

As a starter it isn't a bad lens.
It's range is too short as an all rounder but it's a good starting point.
You might be wise to buy one and get used the the camera then invest in lenses in time.

I agree, go for a used macro and a 18-55 kit lens.

Bear in mind the canon 18-55 comes in a non IS and IS version, the IS version is more expensive but is said to have the better image quality, the non IS is the one normally bundled with a kit and can be had for around £40 2nd hand. But I found it pretty poor unless in good lighting situations which should be fine for outdoors but I think you may be disappointed with the results of this lens overall.

I agree that the lens is not the best for low lighting conditions but landscaping tends to come with its own light (unless its pre dawn/post dusk shots the OP is looking for) whatever the weather so IMO its a fairly capable lens if you limit it to certain scenarios. :)
