Hi Guys

i have a web site with clikpic and am on my limit of storage as a super pro user ..
with weddings and portraits coming up quite often now rather than pay £100 for each 1000 extra photos
i am after a photo storage site where i can link from my main site to the online storage and give a private link for people to view their photos ..

I have looked at photo bucket , my photo album , but is there a way to create a private link that a customer can easily link in to

cheers in advance

Rog

i concidered that when i switched from flickr, but the individual has to sign up to flickr and you can only limit it to friends or family groups.

Cheers Guys .. Yes i already have a flicker , Not had chance to look yet as a m8 turned up .. But i take it you can password protect each gallery on Fotki and customers can view without an account can they ...

Hpefully get it sorted later today

Sounds to me like it's time you got sorted with your own bespoke website.

To be honest , i don't have a clue how to go about sorting one out ...

Clickpik is easy to use , and to be fair looks good ,Most clients we have had said we liked the website .. It was simple and easy to use .

but there is simply not enough space on it to let everyone have a private link to their photo's

We are not mad busy with weddings as yet but get more each year through word of mouth , But portraits have been quite busy since christmas ..

So just don't know where to go next .....

Try smugmug ( www.smugmug.com ) - even the basic accounts have unlimited storage, and each gallary can be password protected and can be hidden from your main page too. I don't know if this of interest to you, but there is a way your customers can buy photos directly from the site, though I have no idea how it works, and have that switched off (I only use it for private use)

The pro accounts have more features too - I think you can set it up so you can have your own URL, and it has more scope for you to customise your pages too, and you can add video to the site.

Hope that helps.

That's not true. Even with a free Flickr account, you can restrict viewing of your private stream or private sets to non-Flickr members. This is done by generating a special link from Flickr which has a guest pass embedded in it. You can then email this guest pass link to people and all they have to do is visit it. No signing up required.

What is Guest Pass?

You can share public photos in your photostream by copying the URL in your browser's address bar and pasting it an email. Anyone can see your public photos anytime, whether they're a Flickr member or not.

But! If you want to share private photos with people, use a Guest Pass. You can grant anyone access to the entire contents of one of your sets, including any private photos it contains. A Guest Pass is actually just that URL. This means that whoever sees that URL can access the set and all the photos inside it.

Go to the set you want to share and click the "Share this" button. Then we'll help you either send an email to friends via Flickr or make a special web address (URL) that you can share.
