not sure if this is in the right place?, do any of you good people know of any photographers that covered the vietnam war?, i dont mean personally, but toggers in the public eye?.

Robert Capa is one. Unfortunately it's where he met his demise, landmine! :(

Capa died in 1954 photographing the Indochina war.
There were hundreds of snappers covering the war, just do a Google image search and start there.

Larry Burrows and Sean Flynn (Son of Errol) who went missing on his way to Cambodia with Dana Stone, Page spent a lot of years trying to find out what happened to them.

Watch the series Frankie's house, it's a good DVD on the photo-journalists in Vietnam

Don McCullin and if you fancy a good read as well as seeing some of his photos of all the conflicts he has covered then get Unreasonable Behaviour which is his autobiography.

McCullin is right now compiling images for his exhibition at the IWM according to the curator... should be good - and according to Hilary, he's cheered up a bit...

I once spent a happy afternoon chatting to Tim Page while me (then) girlfriend rolled spliffs for him - I was on beer at the time...lol He even signed some older books of his that I'd bought, including a hardback edition of 'Nam - his collected war work originally published ages ago...

PJ Griffiths is another good war 'tog as are Jim Nachtwey and Robert Douglas Duncan...

and then of course...me and the guys I work with.

Larry Burrows and Eddie Adams were probably the most famous togs for covering the Vietnam war. Eddie Adams most famous photo was of a guy being executed in the street and he captures the exact moment where the bullet entered his head. Check out the books 'Vietnam' Larry Burrows and 'Vietnam' Eddie Adams. I researched both recently for my college project and bought both books. The pictures are superb in both.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I have a book titled simply 'WAR Photography', edited by Thomas Barfield, ISBN 1-40547-555-2, that is simply stunning. Bought from Tesco for about 4 quid, it's the best 4 knicker I've ever spent.
