warning Dead bird

Hi can anyone identify this bird for me, it met it's demise by flying into the upstairs window but i didn't know what it was had a look in my wildlife book and the nearest i can get is female pheasant ( youngish ) thanks for lookingView attachment 23517

I think it is a grey partridge.

I think a female grey partridge too. A pity as there aren't enough around, though I'm impressed it hit an upstairs window. Game birds aren't often high flyers by choice.

thanks for the replies, it may not have hit the upstairs I just heard a loud thud & just assumed that it was upstairs lovely bird though shame it died
