Bugs Wasp Stack

Focus stacked(21 layers) using my 150mm macro lens/ ext tubes with a reversed 55mm on the front end. Lit with a couple speed lights from either side.
It certainly paid dividends Ryan.
That's probably the closest & most detailed one yet.
Nice one :)

( Did anyone else hear the thud of a gauntlet hitting the ground? :D )

Thanks Chris, I have tried getting closer with a wider angle lens(28mm) reversed on the front of the 150mm but loads of factors start making a decent stack near on impossible. Even with the current configuration the working distance is only about an inch(if that) from the front element.

One of these days I want to try working with microscope objectives but its such a mine field of pitfalls and expensive kit I just can't warrant it at the moment.

As for a gauntlet, if anyone wants to give it a go I would love to see your results but I think I have already been beaten hands down by this guy (amongst others) who's exhibition I saw and got inspired to try extreme macro from in Cambridge a couple years ago. https://levonbiss.com/
