Hover Fly. Good capture, but it looks as though you've run noise reduction on it in parts?

I did! Oversharpened it I think! It never clicked it was a hoverfly, after all thats been posted by Ewan and others!

I never run NR on the actual subject - I think that plasticky smooth look is awful and destroys any texture - I'd rather have the noise. I do run NR on the backgrounds sometimes though.

Oh dear, I seem to be getting a reputation

I like the composition but I think the contrast needs boosting - the fly doesn't really stand out that much atm
