Its those iron men at Crosby beach - got bits of sealife growing on them which makes them "edgy" - the ones above the tideline remain "untouched"
 
This is good, lots of appeal, but I wish, oh how I wish you had taken a few steps to the left to create a tad more space between the statue and sun, I think it would have resulted in a stronger composition?
 
Thanks for the comments and yes will consider the step back approach next time I get the chance that is a very valid point and one of those things that when into the viewfinder I tend to forget - got a set of nd filters and they do help with the likes of the highlights on the sand etc
 
An apt title for this pic. would be "The Man From Atlantis"
Agree with Les McLean, both the man & sun are "too central" & would look better if there was more of a gap between both.
I posted a similar pic. "A Break from Fishing in the Sunset" a few weeks ago & have learned from C&C in that my stand & rods were central in the pic
