B&W brings a nice change to an otherwise cliched shot.
You could be fooled into thinking it was anything but a CD.

Nicely done!

Ooooooooooooooohhhhh!!! Even more arty fartyness from his Lezship:D

Nice tho(y)

Love the lighting on this lezmondo!

Matt

Thanks all comments appreciated

The lighting was an off camera flash @ 1/32 power, mounted to the left of subject around 4 ft away

I like this B&W - gives it a twist on the more common rainbow effect (y)

That was my remit Carl, Im always seeing colour versions, thought a mono shot would suit this subject

Thank you for your comments

Have to say, the Mono take on this is most definitely very refreshing.

All too often you see the spectrum of colours but not just that, seriously over-saturated versions which look nasty.

This one looks like metal and the lighting and contrast is superb.

Thank you Ian- that means a lot - coming from our resident Macro expert

the droplets on the white upper edge detract from the smoothness - makes it look crinkled or cracked. However I love the way some of the droplets get large towards the centre :)

Thanks ladies- it was cracked on the upper edge by the way :D

Now I really like that.
I was wondering how you had lit it and then read your latter post Lez.
If I had not read the title I would have thought it was the base of a wine glass rather than a cd.
