You have been lucky with the cold weather as these little guys are having to come out in search of food. You wont get a much better image of one of these--cracker of an image.

Now the weather is slightly warmer hopefully these guys can return to their normal routine. Not so good for photography but much better for them

Cracking image. The bird's annoyance is the photographers gain. As you say, with the cold snap departing things can get back to normal for them now.
