Waterproof bag? Underwater photography

Any recommendations for what to buy for a trial weekend of underwater shots?

Nothing too fancy, probably local ducks on a pond.

eBay has some £60 plastic bags. I've tried the fish tank method with little success
I'd like to get a flash under the water too.

Any help appreciated

Flash underwater needs a little thought. You need to get it as far away from the lens axis as possible, but you then start to push the price up really rather high.

Without knowing what you intend to do......you could do far worse then a ewa marine bag if your not going very deep. Speak to Paul at www. camera underwater.co.uk

If you're only shooting near the surface, you won't have too much need for a flash if you have decent natural light. Using a flash underwater is completely different to using one on land, its not a case of potting it on the hot shoe, as direct flash can cause what is known as 'backscatter' which is basically particles of crud in the water lit by the flash and they show up as little white dots (for want of a better term).

Have a crack with a ewa-marine bag, and shoot in RAW, but beware of getting into U/W too much. All I can say is ££££££££££££££££££££££ !

ok thanks, just intend to try a duck feeding underwater to start and move on from there
