Waterproof Lens/Camera Covers

As per title, i'm wondering what everybody uses to cover their lens/camera/both when shooting in wet conditions?

Recently I managed to almost totally knacker my D50 in rainy conditions at a Rally in york. The flash kept popping up when trying to click the shutter, I couldn't view any images I shot and the menu wasn't working...had to remove everything and let it dry for a few hours before using again.

so, in future I would like to have some waterproof cover to hand so that I can still shoot but not risk my gear.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

Wildlife watching supplies make some but I personally use the arm off an old waterproof, it fits perfectly over my 400mm telephoto and covers the camera.

Freezer bag (large) 1 or 2 lacky bands, pair of scissors, there you go!
Cost-virtually nowt!
