Ok getting mixed answers I suppose pp isn't a bad idea
Is a grey card that important.....
The grey card is mostly used by studio photographers, so that once they have set the lights up they, they take a few pics with the model holding a grey card, and when they come to post process the images they can just click on the grey card with a neutral colour picker, and that colour value can be applied to all the images.
Are you sure about that? (I don't know for sure) It sounds about the daftest thing I have ever heard.
Grey card is used to take setting before you shoot.

Quite sure.![]()
It could be done either way, but should the lighting change, rather than taking another WB reading off the Grey Card, you just take another pic with the model holding said card and carry on.![]()
Sorry it just sounds dafter and dafter. BUT I have never used a grey card... i just dont understand why.. if you ahve a grey card you take the reading and shoot perfectly exposed pictures... your not supposed to photogrpah the grey card for correcting later.. thats not how it works.. I struggle with the concept of using a grey card so you can take a bad picture and easier to fix later..
But nothing should suprise me nowerdays![]()
