Hello all,

Am shooting for my son's birthday party soon. The function room has these spot lights, guess its halogen. Will be using some bounce flash for lighting.

Just wonder what should I keep my WB as I will be shooting JPEG? Should it be on Tungsten or Flash? Thanks.

Depends how much ambient you'll be retaining in the shot. Ideally you'd gel the flash to match ambient and set the white balance for the ambient.

But if the white balance is at all in doubt, shoot raw instead of jpg.

but as its his son's birthday party you probably want to worry a little less about being a photographer and more about the party so the simplest advice is set for your major light source, probably flash in this case
