I have bought my domian name from FreeParking and have my host as MobileMe.
I have all the setting from MobileMe - web.me.com and followed these instructions to the letter.
I log into my domain name and ask it to forward to my host and sit and wait the 48hrs it tells me, but nothing happens I get the message that the server cant be found.

I have emailed the support at freeparking but had no reply, so anyone on here got any ideas.

This is where I'm asking FreeParking to forward

My MobileMe is a free trail but I do intend buying the spaces as it works superbly well with my iMac

That link works for me, you have some pictures of a couple of kids on the right hand side of the page.

Try clearing your cache in your browser

OK edit again:

I see what you are getting at now, you want for people to be forwarded to your web site if they enter www.farnworth-photography.co.uk

In that case paste in

into the URL web forwarding section

Should work, like you say takes a few hours to refresh.

Its still not working but I'll give it another 24hrs
 
I am surprised it has not taken yet.

This may sound like a silly question but did you save your settings when you changed the URL in the web forwarding section?

Could you post a screen shot of the whole web & email forwarding section please
 
I have also noticed from the WHOIS record that you have changed the name server to:

web.me.com


This is wrong, you should not have changed the name servers, you will need to change them back to the default name servers provided by freeparking, also there should always be two DNS/name servers listed
 
Hi Farno,

Just to let you know that your DNS/ name servers are still wrong, the name servers listed by Markw08 in post 11 were an example only.

I have had a look on the Freeparking website and they seem to use two sets of name servers.

Try these name servers, if the first set does not work try the second set. Give them a bit of time to resolve/update before changes.

First set:

We have progress!
I put in ns1 and ns2 and now the page loads as a bad request(invalid hostname)
should I try ns3 ns4 or wait the correct amount of time?

I'll check, I'm 90% sure it is. Might take some time as I'm at work doing this of my Hero phone.
 
I am fairly certain the name servers are correct but there still seems to be a problem.

If you do have the following in your web forwarding section

Then we may need to change that slightly but it is hard to tell without having access to the control panel you are using.

Try the following in your web forwarding section instead

As always give it some time to update/resolve.

It should be working now.
I updated the link and I reset the Zone file in the DNS manager tab to default setting.
No idea what this is, but thought 'reset' sounded good.
