Yes
Right, I have my business website, I was wondering if I were to buy another domain name, without signing up with yet another host would I be able to make the new domain name link up to my existing one?

i.e if I buy 123456.co.uk and already have 67890.co.uk and I have a page already on the second domain name, could I, if someone was to type in 123456.co.uk make it go straight to this page I want it to? Or will I need to buy yet another host for this new domain..?:gag::help:

fankies in advance!

Should be a way to link them on your hosts website.

Oooh, sounds fab! If I was to buy one tomorrow, could someone give me a basic idea on how I'd do it?

A little excited now :lol:

Look for redirects on the domain name control panel.

To be as search engine friendly as possible you need make sure its a 301 redirect. This is a permanent redirect and tells the search engines that this domain will be permanently redirected to this other domain, with no worries of the site appearing in the search results and both domains get penalised for any duplicate content.

TBH the easiest way would be to speak to your hosts, but it should be possible, if not you may need to change package with your hosts/get a new host.

I have a redirect option, I will copy the wording in the morning to get your opinions, but to me it's worded that the domain I want to get linked that runs to my CURRENT site, actually becomes the sent-to site, if you know what I mean?
There's no option for what type of redirect though, unfortunatley, not an obvious choice - just 'type in the address you wish to redirect' box and that's about it!

+1

I've done this in the past, just ask them to point the new domain at the right place. Configuring it yourself is "easy", once you know how. Funny how it's the finding out how that everyone always forgets init.

It's quite easy. I have four web addresses all pointing to the same site.

.co.uk/.com/.net/etc;

It also gives an option to display forwarded address or own address.

Lets know the host site and I'm sure someone else uses them and can let you know.
