Hi All,
I am about to start a new website, decided I need to move about from my current flash based one. Now I think best way forward would be Java Script and CSS for easy design change. Now I have no experience of either and am struggling to find any templates. They all seem to be flash based.

Anyone know of any good templates, I don't mind spending some £'s

Have you considered Joomla as an option for your design? Plenty of templates for that, some free, some to pay for but not expensive.

Takes a bit of getting used to but not impossible. If you're savvy with web design then should be no problem. Just need webserver space with MYSQL database facility and can run php.

I do all my sites on Joomla now.

forget the template. (just for the moment)

Thinking about today, tommorow and next year...

What do you want the site to do for you, your visitors?
How often would you like to update your site?
Is selling images a long term aim?
 
Hi,
Website at the moment is to show off my photos, with the long term plan to sell. I want it to show my best work, be updated weekly with new photos.

Look at wordpress, with a photography plugin. Its simple, can be crowbared to do what you want, and very easy to add contet and images down the line. Furthermore, you can add e-commerce down the line too

There are plenty of photography templates out there, but, they are very easy to modify and redesign as you see fit
 
Thank you, just installed this on my home webserver, never used it before, but looks pretty cool, will have a play today
 
I had the same questions last week, spent ages looking at the options (drupal, joomla, wp, jalbum etc.) and eventually ended up back where I started, coding a site from scratch and embedding Gallery2 and wordpress into spereate pages (both very simple). That way I can design the static parts myself and then use the integrated gallery and shopping cart system in Gallery2. :)

I have very little coding experience but managed to get my site up and almost finished within a few days. Have a look at www.w3schools.com and any questions can usually be answered on here. :)

I'm heading towards this from my current wordpress set up
