I have a family wedding to do in June and I want to put an album together.

I have seen the Spicer catalogue and I think I understand it, you buy an album then add matts to it (is that right), but I want to know if there is something along the lines of a photobook (like the photobox ones) for weddings, top quality, how do I design the pages.

Are there any printhouses for wedding albums that let you use their design software. As I do not tnink I will be doing a lot of weddings, I don't want to pay a lot of money for software I am never going to use again

I have CS3 and LR2.2, can these do the stuff I want?

I have searched this forum but many threads that start off asking about wedding albums turn intop debates about wedding photography, I only want to know about albums and design software please.

Hope you can help.

I know Sim2000 and possibly GraphiStudio (wouldn't think it was only last week I was at Focus would you?) do these types of albums, it is worth checking out their websites. Although they are quite pricey...but they do produce proper albums from your designs, not photobooks.

I know you can use your own design software for them too, so CS3 is perfect...and I do remember one of them mentioning that they had or are soon releasing their own software.

My memory is quite bad, or perhaps I just wasn't listening...but hopefully it is something to work from :D

I use Loxley Colour for most of my albums which are the digital art type as opposed to matted. You can download their ROES PRO software and use the supplied templates but I use the Fundy Album Builder which does a great job and is a lot cheaper and easier to use than many of the others available.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I shall try and have a look at their websites.

I used Blurb about a year ago and believe this site may have a promotion with them.
The book i got was very slick and not as expensive as others.

Worth a look, but woudnt recomend them over anyone else as i havent seen any others.

What's your budget for the album?

I do not have a budget but I expect there to be around 10 to 15 pages in the book.

There are only 46 guests for the whole wedding and the happy couple only want candids with the exception of a couple of themselves as formal poses.

Any price indications would be helpful.

thanks.

I use Loxley's belissimo albums. 15 page 12"x8" you're probably looking around £200. As Hacker said they have their own templates but I prefer using Page Gallery but it's not cheap.
