God I hope I know what I’m doing posting this on here! Just mention the word “Wedding” and Booooom - all hell breaks lose and shares in Popcorn companies skyrocket. DFS sell more sofas and off licences all over the country are 20% up on sales!

Ah well here goes - My son is getting married in September in the Lake District. It’s just a small civil ceremony (bride will be in full wedding attire) with 12 adults and 4 children. We are also hoping for a 50’s American Car to be used (see below). The main reception will be held back in Milton Keynes (don’t need tog for this)

Is there any member living within easy reach who would be prepared for reasonable expenses only to assist with the photography for 2/4 hours, who is proficient and has assisted before at a wedding or two recently, who wants to build on their portfolio. I think it’s fair to ask for the full copyright of the images for myself but I’m sure more experienced people on here will correct me if I’m wrong.

I was planning to try and shoot the majority of the pictures of the b&g myself but will obviously struggle with the ceremony/group shots! ! (I’m no good at p’shopping). My own wedding photography experience is 2 as main tog 3 as assistant and a one day BIPP wedding course! (I guess that makes me a pro then – waits for big bang) :exit:

As previously mentioned it is only a short civil ceremony on Thursday 24th September 2009 at 15.00 at Langdale Hotel http://www.langdale.co.uk/weddings/index.htm (hopefully outside – weather permitting) Looks like plenty of good photo locations on the Langdale Estate.

Also does anyone know of a hire company or owner who has a 1950’s American Classic i.e. Chevy Bel Air etc., for hire for the afternoon in that neck of the woods. My future daughter in law is a 50’s fanatic and my wife and I are hoping to arrange this as a surprise. At the moment her dad’s taking her to the ceremony in his people carrier!!

If anyone would like either PM me or respond in open forum to discuss further please do.

Mods - please feel free to move to appropriate section.

This member, Ian, lives in Kendal, its worth a try.

Thanks for that Tom

Thank you for that, yes I am reasonably local and will have availability I would say, obviously don't like giving up copyright and I also do all the PP myself, not sure I am comfortable with anyone else doing it.

As for 50's cars, I am really not sure to be honest !

Thanks for the response Ian - I wasn't expecting anyone to come back so quickly - very interested in talking to you further, I'm sure the copyright thing can be overcome. I have to go out shortly but do I take it your interested? Do you know much about the venue? They have quite a comprehensive website and this helps being so far away as there's no chance of me doing a "recky" beforehand.

Kind regards

Geoff

I have never actually shot there but I do know it from years ago, happy to do do a recce for you though. Ain't got a clue how to price it for you, I have done another TP Wedding at reduced cost so as its a Thursday happy to do the same.

Please take a look at my work and if the B&G would like the passwords for the locked galleries I am happy to provide.

That's a very kind offer Ian. Please let me know what you would charge at your convenience. I have had a brief look at your website, and yes passwords would be great.

Thanks again -

Just heard my evening out has been cancelled :(
