Wedding, best lens to take

I'm off to my mates wedding in Canada in July, I'd like to take some nice shots while there, but don't want to get in the way of the main photograher

What's the best lens to use at an event like this?

I've already got:

Nikon 18-55 AF-S VR
Nikon 55-200 AF-S VR
Samyang 8mm Fisheye - great for artistic stuff!

If you don't want to get in the way, take the telephoto and hover at the back. That said I'd still take the 18-55 as well. They don't exactly weigh much extra. Can't see the fish eye getting many flattering shots!

I think it would have to be the 18-55....unless you're keeping well out of the way of the way of the main tog then take the 55-200!

55-200 for candids and outdoor portraits. 18-55 most of the time when your in the thick of it. If I was going to rely on one I would pick the 18-55.

Bet no one else there will have a fish eye. I'd take all three but using the 8mm will give them something different. I'd use the 18-55 for the normal stuff though

the wedding tog might, but yeah I would take them all. If possible use the fisheye with the camera on a monopod or some other pole. Set your timer to 10 seconds and lift it over everyones head while they are dancing etc. Call out to them to look up at the camera just before it fires, repeat a few times and you will usually get a really cool shot.

Take them all and also throw in a 35 1.8 for evening and night time candids as well. That is more or less my standard kit and it carries easily. I've taken the full kit (plus an SB400) to china multiple times and also back and forth to the US a bunch. It fits in the bottom half of a lowe pro fastpack 250 easily with room for leads, cloths, filters, etc.

If you can get hold of a 35mm..take that for some portraity shots, can't beat its VFM in my opinion, and keep the 55-200 on for the ceremony
