So I have been asked to shoot a wedding for a friend, I haven't done this before and they are aware but still would like me to try. I was wondering what kit I'd be needing to make a good job of it?

I currently have a Pentax K-5ii, 50 1.8, 17-50 2.8 and speedlight, which I feel would be appropriate for the job.

I also have a micro 4/3 kit with a 45 1.8 and 20 1.7.

I would really like an 85mm 1.8 but pentax is stupid money for one (77mm 1.8 £600)

I am really considering selling up Pentax moving to canikon to get an 85. Would be looking at pretty much a straight swap body wise for a D7000.

Not sure what to do...

Last weekend I was at my cousin's wedding and I didn't take my 50mm f1.4 off my D7100 - it was great for me.
I didn't feel the need for anything longer but I was just going for candid shots, so you may want to break out your 17-50 for versatility?

I suppose the best thing to do would be to rent an 85mm before you shell out? (Like I never do)

Just shoot the wedding for the experience and then decide afterwards if the 85mm would have made any difference. The 50mm lens is a very versatile option in my view. You have the 17-50 there if you need anything wider.
