Wedding Photographers hate link.

Lets remember that he's a wedding photographer and not claiming to be a web developer to boot. Maybe his site isn't the best but his clients probably don't want a website building for their wedding they wanta some photographs taken. Website aren't the be all and end all you know.

No, but speaking about websites generally rather than specifically, imo they are your 'shopfront' and as such, the more appealing they are, the more likely the viewer is to browse further. Some may not like it, but first impressions still count for a lot, you have to make YOUR first impression count - whether thats a studio in the high street or a website.

I highly disagree with your view on this matter. A website is nowadays the first point of contact with your potential client. You don't want to leave an unprofessional appearance. I'm not saying that he has to be a web designer (which he blatantly is trying to be!) but instead invest in a professional web designer... Pay someone who's good at what he does. Isn't that, what Paul says about photography anyway? Funny, eh... ;)

Don't get me wrong, I see the importance of websites and having a good one but perhaps he has other priorities to spend his money on than his website or specifically paying someone else to do it for him. They're important but they're not the only form of advertising and they aren't the be all and end all, they're a tool like any other.

Cost is definitely a big factor, but there's a lot of students who are just waiting for that extra add on their portfolio... ;)

I quite agree. Also "less is more" if you don't know what you're doing. That and everyone knows Comic Sans is the work of the devil. [S2]Comic Sans[/S2]

Yet this whole thread was based on his presentation. Even given the positive remarks, there was inevitably a comment or three about the quality of the image he was presenting. As he's also made changes, he must think it's important too.

Well, this has been very interesting. I was quite amused at the racism card being brought up with no racist comments having been made. The guy himself assumed people were referring to black people, what does that say about him?
Anyway, it seems like (SEEMS like, Mr Lawyer :-p ) it was the guy himself that posted on here, I doubt he'll be back after such an epic fail.
