Wedding photographers...Would you outsource?

Hi

I have a background in spacial, 3D and graphic design, and I am thinking of starting up a business doing wedding album design (bespoke designs for flush-mounts and coffee-table albums). I have found that there are many album designers working in the US but not so many in the UK. So is there is need for such a business?

Would you condsider outsourcing your design work? and if so, how much per spread (double page) would you pay?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do my own album design and enjoy it so no plans to outsource I'm afraid

I promise I'm not scouting for business :-)...jst trying to get some research together to see if the business would be a good idea or not. If you ever got too busy, and needed to outsource what kind of price per spread would you be comfortable in paying? If you couldn't design or hated doing it would you consider outsourcing?

I am not good at delegating so unlikely that I would get someone else to design my albums. I have invested in software and only really feel happy when I have done it myself.

When I am snowed under with work, the first thing I want to out source is the book-keeping!
 
yes, I'm building it into my planning, I don't want to spend a week working on a wedding when I can sub that work out to someone who will do a better job quicker.

I'm not at a stage yet to give you any firm figures though.
 
Thanks David. When you have done the planning, It would be great if you could let me know what fee you would deem reasonible! Got lots of research to do :-)

Quite a few labs, particulary in the US do this - prices seem to be around $200 for the who album design
