Hi Gary, there are a few about,,,,,e.g Confetti and Lace by Mark Cleghorn. I think it would be a good idea to sign up to PT4U for a month and see what ya think. You will be able to watch this video and a shed load more stuff....very reccommended.
I also have DVDs from NoBS, and Gino Lukamado(?Can't remember the name) as well as parts 1 and 2 of Wedding Masters.........very interesting but not as helpful as PT4U.
Gerry Ghinois also has a site you can subscribe to, but I am sticking with Cleghorn at the mo, and as I get more confident and wish to get more arty then I think Gerry will be the man.
Oh and Yervant has done Dancing with Poppy but can't comment as never seen them.
Another vote for Mark Cleghorn. Not only that but there are loads of training vids on lighting, natural light, using reflectors, using flash studio, lightmeters. It all goes into the pot with the actual wedding dvd's.
I just got Jerry Ghionis Ice Pick Vol1 and I would not really recommend it as a dvd in training terms but more in inspiration and visualization. There is nothing there about lighting or metering or anything technical at all. Just following Jerry about and seeing how he shoots. Great to watch but I wouldn't call it an educational DVD but inspirational.
The other ones I like are Damien Lovegroves and these are quite similar to Mark's in many ways. On cost and value for money PT4U wins hands down though. Only difference is that you would still have the DVD's after your subscription to PT4U ran out, but then how often would you watch a DVD after a year?
Masters of Wedding Photography is good if you want to see people work and get a bit of commentary on their style and approach, but it is not very instructional, more sort of "fly on the wall" with some interviews thrown in to mix it up. I've watched both DVDs a few times, simply for inspiration and ideas. They are pretty expensive though - £129 the pair.
Yeah thought about Damien after I pressed the Post button. Do have a couple of DVD's of his and are excellent, but for posing, flash techniques/ natural light and loads more I think Mark Cleghorn is your best bet.
