Hi All. Some advice please :)

7D body, and available lenses are:

Canon 50mm f1.4
Canon 17-85mm IS f4.5
Tamron 28-300mm XR Di IS f3.5
Sigma 17-70mm f2.8

I have a small shoot for a colleague tomorrow (tuesday) for her son and his new wife - basically the wedding party (about 10 people max) at their home, bride in the dress, groom in the suit etc.. they were married abroad so this is for the UK family that couldn't travel.

:help: My question is this - I want to avoid using flash if at all possible, relying on natural light (house has very large windows) and yes the 50mm will be in the bag (obviously), but what other lens would anyone recommend from this batch?

I don't really want to bring everything with me as we want to keep things 'professional' but low key. Have a Sherpa Pro tripod just to be safe for 'posed' shots.

Have read a lot recently about the 'highlight tone priority' function - both good and bad. The dress is very VERY white so will be trying this function just to be safe, along with some exposure bracketing.

Anything I've missed.?

exposure bracketing is your friend, but would suggest raw to be really safe.

I shoot 80% of my weddings nowadays with my 24-70, so would suggest the sigma will give you best option, you'll probably find the others too slow unless you're outside.

Higher ISO and noise ninja are also a good combination when all else fails!

good luck

17-70mm f2.8.....other lenses are too slow unless you outside

cheers everyone.

50mm and 17-70 it is then.

EB for sure (cheers keirik).

Strange how I've done a few family groups shoots without any problems - mention the word 'wedding' and 'dress' and everything goes a bit wobbly :bonk:

 You could be right smalls - however a mate has just offered to lend me his Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS so I think the bag will now just be this and the 50mm.
