there isn't a 2011 version Marc. I'll assume it's Outlook 2010 as that's the most recent version.
Can't say I've had that problem myself. Have you been in touch with your web host to ensure it's not a problem at the server end rather than locally on your machine? I'm wondering if it could be related to a backup/restore function in some way?
I can't really help than Marc, as I'm a Windows person. I do know on Windows Outlook needs a Hotmail "Connector" installed to collect Hotmail emails. I don't know if it's the same on a Mac. Have you tried logging into Hotmail via a web browser to see if the emails are showing there too?
Good luck with it. I'll still follow the thread out of interest.
If The Outlook settings are pretty much out of the box then it won't be a server side issue- hence the POP3/IMAP question.
It sounds as though something is mucking about with your PST file. Were current emails missing after the old ones reappeared?
Yes.
Look in the configuration options under 'mail' and select 'delete original message after download'.
Edit: posted in response to the post two up from this one!
It should do, but I'm not promising!
Bear mind that you'll only be able to access unread mail from now on.
