Wells Next the sea, harbour at night

Two recent night shots looking across the harbour at Wells next the sea on the North Norfolk coast, never attempted anything like this before so decided to take advantage of being in an area relatively free of light pollution.

Looking forward to another clear night to experiment further!!

Having lived not too far from this place I can see why its an attraction for this type of shot.
These 2 shots almost look like you got the stars in the daytime.
What time of the evening was this?
Maybe with some PP the shy would be better suited a tad darker?

Graham, from memory these were taken around 22.30ish using 15 sec exposure @f4 iso2000

I see what you mean about being a tad bright, second time around I might have used some light painting on the foreground with a powerful spot light and eased off exposure time/PP etc. Also not sure I used the right white balance as they do look rather blue!!!

Just tweaked the white balance in LR and adjusted the sky a little, seems a bit more natural looking now!!

What white balance do folks use for such scenes?

Cheers folks!

From memory the white balance was revised from tungsten (previously set to shoot the street lit shop fronts across the harbour) to daylight, seemed to make the best compromise and make the colours more neutral!!
