...Hoping to get some sunset shots, and came back with nothing usable! :bonk:

I struggled to get a decent exposure even using an ND grad. Any tips for shooting sunsets without the need for exposure blending in PP? I could silhouette everything but don't like the effect too much

i did a night time shot and took me a few weeks and several times going back to get the shot correct best thing stick the picture up as it maybe hard for people to give you advice where as if the picture is up here even if it is bad its something to work with thats how i got mine better

it is frustrating but you will get there

I think it depends if the sun is above the horizon and the landscape illuminated or not.

Once the lansdcape is in full shadow you will start to struggle. When I was out doing dawn shots before the sun got above the horizon I would find myself using a lee 3 stop grad sometimes with another 1 stop stacked in front to balance the exposure.

There is a short time after the sun dips below the horizon where there is a reasonable amount of light reflected back down from the clouds (If there are any).

How many stops is your grad?
