.....and ended up buying a Macbook Air!
Well following on from my thread yesterday about my Skyports not working I ventured to Maplin today to get a new battery to see if this was the problem. Gets to Maplin and not got any in stock. Fortunately there is a whole bunch of other shops on the same retail park so decided to try them out.
Next was PC world, no joy.... Curry's, still no joy....Goes into Comet and asked a bloke if they had any, and the answer again was no. However he was stood at the apple table and I noticed there was an apple expert there so whilst I was there I thought I would ask a quick question about a little problem I am having with my Mac Pro.
Just as I am talking to him he is pricing up a Macbook Air and reduced it from £950 to £750. Carried on talking and after a few mins he seemed like a top bloke so he said to me, if you want it then let me see if I can do anything else on this and off he goes. I thought he would come back with maybe a tenner or something off but no, he tells me I can have it for £650! I damned nearly snapped his hand off.
Only downside was that I cannot collect until tomorrow as it was 4.25pm, they shut in 5 mins and he wouldnt have time to box it up and sort it out so I reserved the thing and I collect it tomorrow first thing.
Okay so I spent a little more than the £3 I bargained for a battery but very pleased indeed with my bargain and subsequent purchase
