Western Digital may improve SanDisk''s reliability.
 
Probably famous last words... but I've only ever had a failure with a Kingston card and I have many, many more SanDisk that get a lot more use.
 
I've had good experiences with WD hard disk drives - particularly their 'Red' drives for NAS devices. Can't say the same about the Seagate drives that are failing one after the other....

I agree, I don't understand this avid loyalty for particular brands some folk have.
When I had problems with 3 of my SanDisk memory cards I changed brands to Samsung, if the Samsung memory cards let me down like the SanDisks did I'll try another brand, simple.

Not a case of `avid loyalty` really, just a case of never having had a problem. As you say, if you have a problem, then change.

As I asked above , don't they have one of the best ratings for reliability?

Also don't forget, there are many cheap copies of memory cards being sold & the more trusted brands are the obvious choice of fakers.

I know my memory cards were genuine because Sandisk replaced them under warranty. I sold the replacements because I could not trust them.
 
I've always had Sandisk memory cards, and for the past couple of years have only bought WD HDDs (Reds). I can't say the news worries me at all.
 
Just to be clear, I buy WD hard drives and SanDisk memory. My concern is that the WD side of the new company starts to have more influence than their knowledge, understanding and skills relating to memory cards warrants.
