Weston Master V, Reliable?

Hi all,

I'm after a half-decent and relatively accurate meter, keep coming back to the master v, looks great and seems perfectly functional, just wondering if anyone had any experience with them and how accurate are they? do they lose accuracy with age?

I figure it's worth a punt for <£20 though

I have had a couple of Weston Master 5s, and also had one of the later, made in England Euro-masters.
Good, reliable Selenium meter.
I personally prefer the Euro, as the dial was a bit easier to read, and the numbers on the needle dial were printed sideways, which make it easier to read when you hold it horizontally, which is the correct way.
Mine lasted forever, until I dropped one off a boat!
For £20 definitely worth a punt !

I have one. It's been very accurate all along. Even after sitting around doing nothing for 6 or 7 years, it's still spot on. You'd have to give me more than £20 to part with it though.....

Weston V ...That's all I've ever used with no problems.

The only inaccuracy I get with mine is down to the user.

£20 sounds pretty good for a Master V. Think there are some models that pop up on ebay a bit cheaper now and then but not by much.
