Well having the week off i decided i must get out and do something to keep the boredom at bay. I decided to go up a hill, looked like a mountain to be honest
I have a bad knee and this is the last thing it needed, i thought stuff it, im getting an MRI next week and possible keyhole so i decided to down a few pain killers and crack on.
I set out of Aberdeen and drove to Braemar and around Balmoral. Im not sure of the name of the hill i climbed ill have to look it up later, it was just after Braemar anyway.
I had my 5dmk2 with me and my tripod so i was all set, once at the top i took my snaps and stood about enjoying the beautiful view for half an hour.
On the way back down i was maybe 300 yards down when i decided having a backpack with a decent size tripod hanging off it and a camera round my neck i decided to put the camera in the bag. No sooner had i put the camera away and picked up my bag before 2 jets (unsure what kind) screamed above me at almost stones throw distance away.
I scampered for my camera cursing myself how typical. Missed them in the end and only got a very distant pic. :bonk::bonk:
Anyway a few more yards down i decide to keep it out this time and glad i did as 2 deer walked right in front of me before tearing off round the side of the hill, i decided to follow and see if i could see any more. Only about 100 deer about a mile away, now cursing again because i sold my 70-200 to fund the 5d. Oh well you live and learn, really was an enjoyable day and ill remember to be more prepared next time. Ill get some of the pictures up once im back from the cinema tonight. Tintin is calling
