Aaaaarrrggghhhhh just plugged in my 8GB card and got this message. Got around 300 pictures on it too :-(

Panic not....
There are free ways to extract images from a corrupt card.
Just looking up a link.

Here's one that's free and works well.

I've also used RescuePro - but you need a licence key.

Try it in a different PC too.

This is why I now use only Sandisk after being burned by an unbranded SD card and getting some corrupted files after my first wedding.

Nick, if you are stuck I have a paid for recovery programme which in the past has recovered stuff the free ones won't, so if all else fails I'm happy to try it for you...just DON'T OVER WRITE THE CARD!!!

Recuva is great.

BUT also put the card back in your camera and plug the camera in.

I had exactly this happen to me with a card from my son's camera after he'd been on an Everest trip.

Popped the card back in the camera, plugged the camera in and hey presto.

I'll give these a try this evening and see what happens, thankfully I had transferred half of the images onto my pc which I had forgot about so all is not lost, the others are my red arrows shots that came our poor and a few landscapes from druridge bay so if I can't recover them its not the end of the world George I'll keep you in mind if the free ones don't recover it to maybe give it a try thanks for the replies everyone
