Yes
I don't know what I'm doing to cause this but every shot I save as a jpeg from PhotoShop comes out slightly desaturated when I view it on a web page.

The left is the image in the browser the right is the same image in windows photo viewer.

I'm totally confused :help:

Cheers.

I had the same problem a little while ago and figured out it was the way i was exporting it in lightroom. I was using RGB instead of sRGB and found online images were very washed out/desaturated. Once i made the change they matched the offline version.

Color profiles can be a pain.. Adobe RGB is great for editing, print etc, but for the web, it's got to be sRGB because only the latest browsers have color management and it's still not what it should be.

See here for the whole story..

That said, the sRGB colorspace is far from ideal, Adobe RGB is better (covers more of the visible spectrum) WHEN it works. But even it is not ideal for todays extended color gamut monitors.. but it's the best we've got that has any chance of working with a wide audience. And it basically covers the CMYK space and almost everything that you can print on paper.

This colorspace comparison illustrates why aRGB etc exist...

ProPhoto RGB from Kodak is the best RGB space today (bigger than the visible spectrum even), but best for me is to shoot RAW, archive RAW, and produce Web + print directly from it as needed. Then again, I'm no pro ;)
