No
Hi
Ive just had my G9 go in to have fibre removed after owning it from January and looking after it well etc: no sandy areas or dusty places yet got fibre in its lens.

Ive got it returned today with comments: "Please note a few spots of moisture cant be removed will not effect pictures but if you would like them removed it will be a replacment optical unit and a chargeable item" :|

Which quite surprised its got a moisture spot problem as i never take it in the rain as i know its not weatherproof so wouldn't risk it and it lives in its official canon case when not it use im abit disappointed tbh owning it from January looked after etc:  Like the camera but fibre in lens which is fixed due to service then mention of this and chargeable even if dont effect quality and i cant see nothing but...

Condensation can cause 'moisture' to appear...moving from cold to warm and vice-versa is the main cause of this...
Keep cameras well-wrapped until they have adjusted to the ambient temperature...
If in doubt, disassemble as soon after use as possible and place in a warm DRY cupboard - covered in a tea-towel or other cloth to prevent dust getting in everywhere and let it dry naturally for 24 hours or so...

Ah ok thanks for the info :) i dont go in any sudden temp changes as far as ive noticed and always have it in its case when not in use anyhow so its usually warm anyhow in there as its indoors
Im going to take it to eBay in next few days anyhow as i want it to fund towards a G11 hopefully that'll be abit more fibre/dust resistant and get no moisture in it
