What are you using for cleaning sensor?

Hi all,

just a general question really...

I found some dust bunnies on my sensor and decided to get some cleaning stuff.

So question is : what are you using / how good it is ?

Don't really want to go for kits over £50 and found pretty nice (or at least I think so)

LensPen SensorKlear Loupe Kit (SKLK1) which is about £40.

any thoughts about this kit?

Yes I've the lenspen sensorklear and works well.


Certainly recommend one
 
You can save a fair bit by using SensorKlear without the loupe. Take an out-of-focus picture of the sky or a blank wall using a small aperture, then mentally invert the image, but don't swap left & right, to work out where the dust is.

Oh, and don't forget the Rocket Blower is the first line of attack.

sounds even better as without a loupe i can get it for around £20 (lenspen+Blower). ;)
 
at the end I got lenspen kit including loupe and I can say £40 well spent. so i would recommend to get this kit.

yeah, that loupe makes everything a lot faster as you can see everything without a hassle to put lens back on etc. :thumbs:
 
Have you not considered a rocket blower? Usually shifts most stuff without resorting to actual wet cleaning.

That kit plus the visible dust green swabs and vdust plus liquid is roughly what I brought very recently. You need to get the right sized swab for your sensor size. A pack of 4 swabs was £15 so for roughly £55 gets you all you need for a few dry and wet sensor cleans.

The sensor loupe should make things faster, also I gather if there is a dust spot in the top right of the photo it is not in the top right of the sensor. Seeing the dirt particles on the sensor using a loupe should make it easier to clean it.

A quick update, I cleaned my sensor today for the first time and all went well. I managed to clean it using just the blower and sensorklear II pen. No wet clean was needed. The sensor loupe was invaluable and was really helpful checking how well I was cleaning the sensor as I went.
