Yes
So my son needs AV and all that stuff for his laptop - what are the best suggestions for this (free ideally, in my old PC days used AVG) and something that will tick the boxes but also be easy to install. Its a basic laptop running windows 8 or 10 (cant remember!)

I know you said free preferably but may I suggest spending £20 and getting Kaspersky Internet Security

AV & firewall with lost of useful features, I have used it for years with no issues

Computer Active currently have it on offer for just shy of £18 HERE

avast. just remember to re-register every year when prompted. also turn on silent mode to avoid annoying popups and noises.

even using bog standard w10 defender on one machine.

kaspersky isnt bad above (although there are better), watch out paying for it via digital river can get your bank card blocked.

I used to be an avid Avast user but since going to windows 10 i just rely on defender to cover the bases.
No problems to date.

Another long time Avast antivirus user, free version only. Highly recommended [emoji3]

Another vote for Kaspersky, if you have a Barclays account you get it free.

Avast for me. Free version.

Cheers guys, never heard of Avast until now so that seems the way to go!
