my screen calibrator broke few months ago , i just never got round to replacing it
i d love to invest in a screen / printer device like the color munki, but at around £350 its a bit pricey at the moment
so what is a good screen device to go for ? id be prepared to go to around £130

ive found the eye 2 for £130 so may look at that one.
but ill have a look at that link you sent me. no point ordering anything this side of chrismas
 
since starting this thread i never got around to replacing my calibrator
is the eye one 2 still the one to go for or are there others now that are better??
also i may be in a position to go for an all in one screen/printer like the colour munki. how do you rate this device

I really like the color munki. I use it on a 27 inch LED iMac and an NEC and it is the business. I've also used it to profile Epson printers, but to be honest the canned printer profiles work just as well for me.

It's quick and easy to use and my screen matches my prints, I'm happy.
 
so you saying the printer profile is not very good, if that is the case may as well get a cheaper one for just monitor

The thing is it works well. Much better than what the printer came with, but I had downloaded some newer profiles from Epson and the results are very close to what I get with the colour munki profile.

If I new I could get something cheaper that did monitor only AND gave me the same result using canned profiles I would. The thing is, prints I get back from the lab match my monitor too so the monitor calibration it provides is very good indeed. Maybe this is worth the price alone, and then you have the option of profiling any printer/media combination without the need to find ready made profiles?


I'm getting a new A3 printer soon, and I think I will probably be able to find good profiles online, but I know I can always profile it myself if I need to. I'm also thinking about digital projection and that's another thing it will calibrate.


Sorry I can't be more help, its a pity there isn't somewhere you could compare results before you decide.
