What camera - estate agent

A friend of mine is just starting her own business. Wants a camera to photograph inside and outside of houses.

What would you recommend?

Budget £200
 
I'd add £15-£20 and look at a Sony hx20v or Panasonic tz30. Good wide angle for indoors and good zoom for catching high up (eg roofline ) details.
 
any little canon EOS cropper with 10-22 will do fine. Nice and straight 16-17mm (equivalent on 35mm sensor) is effectively what is needed. She will also certainly need flashes and a decent tripod

£200 - we can all dream. I want a new digital medium format, budget £500 - suggestions please! :lol:
 
Estate agents want something pocketable that gives good results, I would have said add a few more quid and go for a fuji X10 or similar, but they certainly wont want a DSLR + tripod.

When I was in the game many years ago the guys where mainly shooting polaroids for the interiors & 35mm rangefinders for exteriors.

I've just spoken with somebody in the market and they can't sell their house for this particular reason.

I think we need to differentiate between an agent and real estate photographer, but selling homes by awful snapshots is not a very good way to go :shrug:
 
Phone should do it.

Really I'm not trying to cause trouble but either it's a snap to show the house really exists and help people find it or it's a photo to add value to the estate agent's work. For the former a phone will do well (and better for this than most £200 compacts). For the latter you want a photographer, not a camera.
 
I'd have said phone too, but as a business write off expense, the Fuji X10 with its range of features and superb jpegs straight out of the camera, would be just the ticket.
