yes i have a firewire port . Im looking at the Lexar Professional UDMA Dual-Slot USB Reader as i could use it on any laptop and im concerned if i need to use another laptop it may not have firewire. Does anyone use one of the Lexar ones that can comment ?
Can highly recommend the Lexar Professional UDMA CF/SD USB2 reader - mega quick (with the right cards) and around £20-25 delivered (eBay/Warehouse Express etc.)
I wouldn't worry too much.. I'm using a no-name multi-format card reader I got from PC World. I can download a couple of gb in a minute or two, which is plenty fast enough for me. If you want a faster transfer rate, you need to be looking at FireWire.
I got a cheap USB2 one. Cost about £4 when I ordered some other stuff off Amazon, works fine, and does all it needs to. I can wait a cpl mins over an expensive one, as usually get the kettle on when it downloads.
