EDIT: What do you think of the images (see below) that the seller sent me? He stays not too far from me so i could physically go an see it before I buy it, what should I be looking for?



Is someone able to tell me which part of this is the correct code for determining the date of the lens?

You'll need the serial number and then check sites like these:

I should also add that I plan on meeting the seller tonight, so any advice is greatly appreciated!
 
F/4 and f/32 are probably the two worst apertures to check for sharpness anyway, so those images are pretty pointless.

That'll be inexperience on my part.. as I asked for those.. When I meet up i'll take my camera body and try a couple shots at say f11/f16 ?
 
Just to update folks...

After trying out the lens, and having a good look over it I purchased it :)

Negotiated down from £385 to £350, it is in truly immaculate condition so I am very pleased! Can't wait to start shooting away :)
