What difference does the removal of the optical low-pass filter make in the D7100?

Yes
This seems to be one of the main selling points of the camera along with its focus points and resolution bump but what does it actually mean, and honestly would an average shooter notice any difference over a 24 megapixel shot with a camera that had an optical low-pass filter?

Thoughts?

You'll deffo see a difference, i was a Canon shooter when they put the AA filter on the 1DMKII and it was shocking the difference it made to sharpness, so much so that Canon were forced into introducing the MKIIN with a weaker AA filter

Maybe worth comparing the d800 with the d800e to see the difference no low pass filter will make.

There's probably quite a difference at a decent size but a screenshot at 930x500px won't show much difference at all!
