What diffusers work best on the 430 ex mk2?

does this carex home made job actually work? What do you put inside this to stop it damaging the flash?
 
sto-fens are only a couple of quid off ebay (its a piece of plastic... don't need to buy a £25 lumiquest one...), or carex ones you just have to cut up neatly to avoid sharp edges :)
 
Most of them work in much the same way - Stofen, Carex, Fong etc. They all bounce light off the ceiling and send an amount of fill fowards. You can do pretty much the same thing with a bounce card for 2p - in fact by changing the size of the card you can get a lot more control. Many flash guns have a small card (hi-lite panel or whatever) built in to the head and they work really well. Have a look here www.abetterbouncecard.com

Of the others, Stofen works well, is small, cheap, robust. Main benefit of the Fong is it makes Mr Gary very rich.
