hey guys and gals, more questions :D
Im currently doing a photography diploma and am not at the module that covers lighting, i need to get myself a flash, something that i can adjust to point in different directions however something affordable, Im not toally against second hard (if anyone has one they are looking at selling) but im just looking for guidance as to what to get...
 
What camera you using?

Would recommend 430EXII if you're on Canon

The canon 430exII is the best of the flashguns you might call cheap.

The nissin Di622 is a good alternative at half the price (you could almost get two for the price of one 430exII, opening up more lighting possibilities), but lacking a couple of features (high speed sync being the main one). A used 430ex (not mark II) is also a good cheaper alternative.

How big is your budget exactly?
 
Ive got a Metz 48 Af-1 flashgun, cost me £135, I'm not sure on the site, I'll edit this later, it's a great flash, it's on the same par as the 430ex and exII.slightly more powerful, has a couple of good features, one being that it had a 5second continous strobe, it's a model light feature that let's you check shadows before shooting, it's a good feature, I use it abit when shooting :)
 
Cheers guys, theres some good advice there.. as always, my budget is around £130 tops at the moment.... what are the big differences between the Metz 48 AF1 and the 430EXII????

The big difference is you'll struggle to get the Canon for that price :lol:

Metz is more powerful I believe but the Canon obviously is designed to work better with the Canons and future use too
 
For best compatibility I'd recommend the 430exII, if you can't get one new, take a look at the buy sell, they usually go for around 140 mint condition I believe.
