Hi all, just bought a flashgun for my D7000 and would like to know what i need to be able to attach the flash to a tripod for use in slave?

Depends what flash you've bought. :shrug:

If it is a Nikon Flash then you may be able to fire it wirelessly using the Nikon Creative Lighting System using your D7000. If not, then you'll have to buy wireless triggers or flash cord.

To attach to a tripod, again, it depends on what came with the flash. Some Nikon flashes (not sure if they all do :shrug:) comes with a flash stand which screws onto the head on a tripod. So you'll need a tripod with a head on, or a dedicated flash stand with the appropriate fittings. :shrug:

hi thanks for the reply, it's a cheap jessops 360 afd i just wanted something cheap to use as a slave unit, i know how it all works, just want to know if there is something that would screw onto 1 of my tripods same as a camera does but has a connection for a nikon fit flash.

Does that make sence? lol

if not what do i need to attach a nikon fit jessops 360 afd flash to any one of my 2 tripods (both have different heads)
 
As it didn't come with a stand like the Nikon's do, you can either get an tripod mount adapter or just get a very cheap flash slave adaptor for tripod to hot shoe. My local jessops sold one, I then just put tape over the inner contact so it doesn't do anything electronic and off you go.

Camulet do one as well but hasn't been in stock for ages.
 
If the Flash has a Nikon connection, then you would probably need Nikon fit remote cord. There are cheaper copies for less than half the price of the Nikon cord available on Ebay. Some cheaper with a much longer cord too.

If using that cord then the attachment of the flash to the tripod doesn't need to be anything special as the connections are on the cord, which which connects to the stand/connection to the tripod.

Someone with more experience of flash may pop by with an easier/cheaper way to do it.

i don't need it attached to the camera as it has wireless slave, just want it attached to a tripod
 
If you're working wirelessly then that Lastolite Tilthead with Hotshoe looks like what you want. One of the reviews says that
Does exactly what you would expect it to do - hold a flashgun on a tripod or light stand
