We once had Leica microscope delivered at work in a great big company crate - one side of plywood had a large red Leica logo on it, which I should really have kept to ebay. I'm sure someone would have wanted it to hang on their wall or something.

Either that or your screen(ing device) does not have a high enough resolution
I suggest you buy him/her the Nikon coolpix s3300. He/She may laugh and think it is a joke. But, you wait. He/she will probably be out playing with it quickly. So small, light, and simple to use compared to his/her usual Nikon camera he/she will quickly find a use for it. Like just having fun. Sometimes serious types forget how to do that. And, it is quite an experience when rediscovering just having fun once again.

I keep hearing hoe Nikon has so much more glass than Pentax, but I could hardly lift all my Pentax gear in on go, carrying it all is a complete no-no!
If taking my DSLR I usually trim it down to 1 body & half a dozen lenses, but more often take the MFT kit, which is lighter with 2 bodies & 10 lenses!
