Before any of you suggest laying off the baked beans and brussel sprouts I'm not meaning flatulence!

I'm planning on getting out and about with the macro lens now the flowers have come into bloom but we seem to be plagued by winds at the moment and it makes life very hard for photographing things up close. I've seen the plamp but I'm convinced there must be an easy DIY option from a bit of wire and some type of padded clamp attached to the end. Any suggestions of how to make something or perhaps photo's of your own solution? Equally, an alternative method is a welcome suggestion.

Thanks folks, and good to be back after a while away from the forum!

Put a reflector near your subject to act as a wind break and to add some fill light.

I use the Plamp as it's easy to use and carry around. However i suppose you could try using an old wire coat hanger and a cloths peg

Nothing is going to offer a complete solution.

Stay in the pub until the wind subsides.
