what does this do? Im still learning.

It slips over the lens when extended and gives you a 55mm thread to attach filters or lens hoods to.

It's for fitting this sort of nonsense on....

On the s7000 the lens is retracted when powered down and on power up the lens extends to its shooting position, not sure about the s5600. These adaptors save having to remove filter when you switch off, allows a filter to be left in place 'permanently'.

I have an s7000 too. There's no thread on the lens itself, so you thread the tube on to the camera body and put the filter on that so it's suspended in front of the lens. If you want to fit something like a teleconverter, you'd probably break the flimsy lens by screwing it on to that, so it's best to attatch it to the body. Does the s5600 have one of these threads? If not, I guess whoever listed the thing just made a mistake.

Hi, i have a fuji s5600, which has a 55mm thread. I has some filters for it and a lens hood so...

what does this do.... Lens adaptor 55mm to 55mm???

Thanks
Andy

Despite what the person on ebay may think, the adaptor shown is not suitable for a s5600 because as you say, this camera already has a 55mm filter thread. The s602 and s7000 however do not so presumably this adaptor is intended for use with those cameras.
