What flash for Nikon D90?

No
I've not used a flashgun since I had my old F90X - I forget which Nikon model it was, but it was an amazing and powerful flashgun. I'm expecting some shooting requirements to come up soon (non-professional) and will, most likely, need a flashgun. I'd like something with a tilt/bounce head rather than fixed. And I'd prefer Nikon equipment. Is there anything that fits the bill, up to around 150.00-175.00?

have you considered a different brand?
i have a rokinon flashgun from overstock and its excellent.
saved me a lot of money over the sony flashgun and personally i think its just as good.
Jessops also do an entry level flashgun.

for your budget if you want nikon then an sb600 secondhand, but they dont come up often.

The SB600 is the one you want and personally, given how good Nikon's flash system is, I'd stick with a Nikon gun.

If you want to fire a flashgun remotely, the money you'll save getting a third party flash remote and receiver will cost as much as a Nikon flashgun. Nikon flashguns (SB-600 upwards I believe) will work with your D90 to provide remote flash without any extra things to buy.

boopop.
learn something new everyday... i didnt know that.
cheers for the information :)

Something for me to consider now when i move over to nikon!

Admittedly, a £70 third party flashgun and the remote and receiver won't add up to the £150~ price of a SB600 second hand, but as others have said, the Nikon flashguns are really good and worth the money.

The remote system is called "Creative Lighting System" and is compatible with Nikon bodies D70 upwards I think - check elsewhere to be certain!
