What Flash Gun batteries?

Yes
Just started to get into using my 430ex on a more regular basis and am getting frustrated at having to keep recharging batteries and the poor cycle rate that I am getting.

What batteries are people using and is anyone using the little adaptors that allow an extra battery to be fitted actually on the flash gun? If so are they any good and where can I find them?

Thanks,
Chris

This has been discuessed to death really, my favourite are Eneloops.

Check here LINK

Thanks - I should have checked really sorry.

I would still like to know if anyone is using a little adaptor to enable the gun to take a fifth battery - I saw it on a SB800 but would love to know if there is one for my 430ex but cant find one.

I use uniross hybrios and they are excellent, last long and hold their charge for ages

Have you checked for an external battery pack? The fifth battery on the SB800 makes a difference but not that much, still a difference is a difference!

These are very similar to the Eneloops, really good batteries too.

When I bought my SB600 and SB800 I bought 24 rechargeables from china. They would take 50 or so pics and die so after umming and arring I eventually bought the eneloops and because of the experience with the chinese batteries I bought 5 sets! Didn't need them, the eneloops give 500+ flashes!!!

Yeah they're more or less the same battery apart from the name

it's suprising how many cycles you can get off a charge :)

Thanks all, just ordered some eneloops from Amazon seeing as how I was ordering a book anyway.

I use energizer 2400. 15 minute charger I have for them is a god send. I remember to charge camera batteries, but am useless at flash battery recharging until I am on the way to a shoot.

I have a 15 min charger and some 2500ma or something batteries but I found them to be nowhere near as good as the hybrios or similar types, I now only use them for my wireless mouse ,etc
