Hi all tried looking for thread about buying a flash but didn't have to much time to look ( sorry but new to the forum ) . Question is are the cheap flashes on ebay a good buy or better getting a good make i.e. Canon / Metz ???

Do you want to use on camera or off?
Does you want manual or ttl?

What is your budget?
What will the main use be?

Once we know the above people can give suggestions.
 
Yongnuo flashes are apparently very good value for money, which what I think I will be getting next.

I agree, but you need to decide if you want ttl or manual as the price for each is different.

Will need it for general purpose so should imagine ttl and on camera but would be handy off as well, budget not to bad as there is a camera world nearby so could always go for second hand if they have got one in.
I don't want to pay for a cheap one then a few months later need to replace it. Sorry if aim being a pain but not sure what one to go for, Yes it will be the only main flash system //

I have a 568EXII and it is brilliant for the money, almost as good as a 580EXII but a fraction of the price. The built quality ain't as good and it is a bit lower powered but still choc full of features.
 
If you are in no rush save up and get a used Canon flash. If you are and want to try one I would say go for the yn 565 or yn568. A friend bought the 565 and the build quality looks good.

I should say that I am not an expert and am just learning so might be worth waiting for the experts to suggest which one to get.
 
Thanks all for replying to this post, went to Cameraworld and ending up buying a Nissin Di622 for £95.00.
Just got to learn how to use it as the instructions leave a lot to be desired.

Hi Pingu666 Just got of youttube thought i had bought rubbish but they was talking about the mk1 the mrk11 is the one i have got and they said it seems ok, have tried it easy to use and no problem so far but not worried as its guaranteed being new.
